"Van Ausdal's Trading Post" by Roland Schwiensburg |
This painting depicts the trading post owned by Cornelius
Van Ausdal, originally of Virginia, trading with the Shawnee Chief, Tecumseh. The
painting depicts the log cabin that Van Ausdal owned on East Main Street, prior

Roland Schwiensburg, of Youngstown, was commissioned by
the WPA to paint the mural and it was hung in the post office in September
1939.
